2024 Winner - Sand Creek Elementary in Highlands Ranch, Colorado
We’re thrilled to partner with Principal Pamela Pekarek at Sand Creek Elementary in Highlands Ranch, CO, USA. The initial entry was submitted by Emily Drost, with final approval from Pamela. We’re excited to collaborate with schools that are dedicated to educating the whole child and fostering personal growth for every student. Sand Creek Elementary goes above and beyond with initiatives like their garden, garden club, and more, nurturing both the minds and hearts of their students.

2022 Winner - On Solid Ground in Barrie, Ontario
On Solid Ground has been operating for over 10 years. The clinic bases its therapy and learning on the scientific principles of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) focused on the individual learning needs of those with autism to help elevate critical life skills including communication, socialization, and motor skills. “There is a fundamental need for natural, outdoor play. To date, the children and staff have been thrilled with the new open-ended learning pod,” comments facility director Tammy Frazer.
2021 Winner - Madoc Drive Public School in Brampton, Ontario
A contest was held on social media both in Canada and the United States to give away an outdoor classroom to either a child-care facility or school. On May 16, a random draw took place from all eligible entries and the winner was Madoc Drive Public school in Brampton. View story HERE.
2020 Winner - Red Bank Elementary in Chattanooga, Tennessee
