Our top-of-the-line package ships complete with 15-30 student stations, an adult-sized teacher station, 6 shade sail posts & 2 shade sails, a curriculum cabinet, 2 planter boxes and a pair of weatherproof magnetic outdoor blackboards. The team at Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds has been building outdoor learning and play spaces for two decades and we are excited to introduce our OutClass™ outdoor classroom packages.
OutClass™ outdoor classrooms offer a natural, flexible, pedagogically sound approach to quickly scaling up your classroom capacity outside to take the pressure off your teachers and school inside. Studies have proven that learning in an outdoor space reduces frenetic behaviour, increases agency and helps to develop a tangible connection between students and their curriculum. In working towards a sustainable future, providing a connection to nature is an integral step in developing stewardship for our natural world.
We offer an array of standard modular OutClass™ sizes and packages from 15 to 30 students and beyond. If you’re interested in a custom build, or would like to add additional components to your project, please don’t hesitate to give us a shout, we’d be more than happy to walk you through the process.
Our outdoor classroom components are built to last, compliant under ADA & AODA standards, and accessible. Our student stations are vandalism proof and come in two sizes (24” & 30“ heights) to accommodate different target age ranges. Our blackboards are specially coated steel that resists the elements and facilitates easier graffiti removal. They are two sided to provide opportunities to split your classes into groups should the need arise. Carefully designed with an 18” span below, they provide open sight-lines at the ground-level allowing the entire classroom to meet CPTED guidelines for supervision. Our shade sails provide relief from the elements when a natural canopy is not available or additional coverage is required. All of our components are handcrafted, natural and built to last through generations of students connecting to nature.
