Overview:
Trueheart Ranch Nature Park Outdoor Classroom recently opened and is part of the broader master plan for Truehart Nature Park, created to support meaningful, nature-based learning, unstructured free play, and community connection.
Two learning areas, one for early years and one for school-age children are nestled within the existing tree canopy to support ongoing educational programming. These spaces were intentionally designed to meet the needs of the community while allowing for both structured learning and self-directed exploration.
These learning areas include an early learning pod, a space with log benches, and an outdoor classroom equipped with student stations, a chalkboard, cabinets and more, creating opportunities for connection, collaboration, and outdoor programming. This space marks the beginning of expanded outdoor learning opportunities within Truehart Nature Park for the San Antonio River Authority’s education team.
